Basics of Metin2 Servers

Metin2 has various server clusters that are aimed at different regions and languages. Each cluster offers servers with the same server settings.

Server Settings

Each server type offers different gameplay conditions. Here are the server settings of the most important and popular server types. All these server types share one important advantage:
Due to access restrictions, there are no to fewer bots on these servers.

The centrepiece is territory control, where guilds compete weekly for the rule over seven territories. The Metin+ feature is available here as well. The event calendar is shared with Ruby, Sapphire, Onyx and Emerald servers.

  • Territory Control
    The server is divided into seven territories with 3 zones each. Every guild is automatically assigned to a territory and can switch once.

    Collecting points:
    - missions earn the guild AP (territory points), which are reset every week
    - in addition there is A-EXP, which is permanent and raises the territory's level
    - the guild with the most AP becomes territory ruler every Monday at 10:00

    The territory ruler decides:
    - which buffs (EXP, item drop rate, Yang) apply to all guilds of the territory – the higher the territory level, the stronger
    - which bosses appear daily in the three zones
    - which weekly items all guilds of the territory receive via GM mail; the ruling guild gets additional rewards

    Decisions are made on Mondays between 10:00 and 23:59 and become active on Tuesday at 00:00.
    At maximum level the guild earns a permanent title, e.g. Veteran of the Twilight.
  • World Council
    The seven territory rulers together form the World Council. Voting takes place on Mondays between 10:00 and 23:59, the majority decides.

    Global buffs for all players:
    - 100% EXP / 50% item drop rate / 25% Yang
    - 25% EXP / 100% item drop rate / 50% Yang
    - 50% EXP / 75% item drop rate / 50% Yang

    The council also votes on:
    - which bosses appear in the neutral zones (including Razador, Bagjanamu, Nemere)
    - which event runs on the weekend (Sat 20:00 – Sun 23:59): Metin Fever, Moonlight or Fish Puzzle
  • Echoes of Power

Newest Metin2 servers, on which the Metin+ feature was introduced for the first time. The event calendar is shared with Ruby, Onyx and Emerald servers.

Subscription model provides access to Onyx and Emerald servers. Onyx offers unique features, some of which were later implemented on other servers. The event calendar is shared with Sapphire, Ruby and Emerald servers.

  • Boss Summoning
    Possibility to summon bosses with modified loot in the Enigma Temple.
    Summoning tokens can be obtained through weekly challenges.

    Here you have the possibility to obtain upgrade items for the Echoes of Power.

Subscription model provides access to Onyx and Emerald servers. Offers additional features through the milestone system that don't need to be purchased in the item shop. The event calendar is shared with Sapphire, Ruby and Onyx servers.

    Daily from 20:00 - 24:00
    - Spawns randomly on a channel
    - Spawns every ~15 minutes
    - Different bosses like for example Razador, Nemere or Northwind War Chief
  • Milestone System
    Defeat milestone bosses in your level range on the server to unlock server-wide and personal milestones.

    Additionally, there is a monthly ranking with valuable rewards.

Offers easy access to interesting items through easily earned Tiger Coins. The event calendar is shared with Sapphire, Onyx and Emerald servers.

  • Monster TP reduced by 25%

Access to this server is only possible via special influencer codes. The codes are mainly distributed via Discord.

New Servers, Server Mergers and Server Transfers

New Servers

Every year, usually three new Metin2 servers start on all clusters.

  • Easter Server:
    Usually a server where the gameplay conditions are somewhat harder at the start. For example, there are usually no apprentice chests and young hero weapons. Furthermore, there are fewer events on these servers than on other new servers.
  • Summer Server:
    Usually a server that has an entry restriction in the form of a one-time purchase or subscription model. New features are often introduced on these servers, which are sometimes later implemented on existing servers.
  • Winter Server:
    The winter servers were temporary Yohara boost servers in recent past, which were only online for ~3 months. Through special rewards, the progress on these servers is significantly faster. At the end of the server, you can choose a target server to which the character and equipment are transferred.

Server Mergers

From time to time, servers with low activity are merged to ensure a healthier player population. These mergers are announced in advance and all characters are automatically transferred to the target server. All items, levels and progress are preserved. The selection of merging servers usually occurs through similar server settings.

Server Transfers

On certain servers you can transfer your character to another server. Transfer between different clusters is not possible. Server transfers can be purchased in the item shop for DR and are usually available for limited time periods. Check in-game for current transfer offers.

Recommendations for Beginners

For new players, it's recommended to choose a well-visited server that has a community in your own language. You should choose a server with an access restriction, as these have significantly fewer bots. Additionally, these servers offer features to make the gaming experience more enjoyable.
The Server Settings already describe the servers very well, so choose a server type that suits your playstyle.
